We’ve achieved ISO 27001 certification.
For many organisations, industry certifications can feel like another box to tick. ISO 27001 is different. It’s one of the most widely recognised standards for information security management and a significant milestone for any cyber security business – let alone a small one like ours.
Why did we set ourselves such a high goal? We strongly believe we should hold ourselves to the same standards we recommend to our customers.
ISO 27001 certification validates that Tarian has implemented and maintains a formal information security management system (ISMS). It means our policies, processes and controls have been independently assessed against an internationally recognised standard.
What does ISO 27001 mean for our customers?
Greater confidence in how information is handled
When delivering security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence or advisory services, it’s critical that customers can trust their partner with sensitive information.
ISO 27001 validates that Tarian takes a structured approach to protecting information, managing risk, and continuously improving our security controls. And that security is central to everything we do – never an afterthought.
Reduced third-party risk
Australian organisations are placing more scrutiny on their suppliers than ever before, particularly those with access to systems, data or critical services.
Tarian’s ISO 27001 certification provides independent assurance that we manage information security through documented processes, governance, risk management and ongoing review. Every box is ticked and meaningful.
Stronger support for compliance and procurement requirements
An increasing number of organisations need to demonstrate due diligence around information security, privacy and supplier risk management.
As an ISO 27001-certified partner, Tarian can make that process easier by providing independent validation of security practices and controls. If you’re operating in regulated industries or enterprise environments, our ISO certification can help you streamline procurement reviews, security assessments and vendor assurance processes.
Evidence of maturity and continuous improvement
As we said at the beginning, ISO 27001 certification is a big milestone for a small organisation like Tarian Cyber. And once achieved, it’s by no means set-and-forget.
However, we believe that our customers deserve the ongoing (independently validated) reassurance that we’re committed to improving our security posture, not simply to meeting a point-in-time requirement. So, as part of our certification, we’re subject to ongoing audits, regular reviews, risk assessments and continual improvement activities.
It’s going to be hard work. But if you know us, then you know that we’ve never been happy to sit back and take it easy when it comes to security.
