Our Mission.
Rather than learning security from textbooks, Jon built his expertise through real incidents, real pressure, and real problem-solving across two decades in IT and cyber security. By 2022, after years working alongside executives, technical teams, and frontline responders, Jon saw a gap.
Organisations needed more than monitoring, they needed experienced operators who could work inside their environments – not just report on them. So he founded Tarian Cyber.
“Tarian,” the Welsh word for shield, reflects both our purpose and Jon’s heritage. But the origin goes back much further, to a young kid with his first x286 DOS machine, no manual, no instructions, just curiosity and persistence. That practical, self-driven approach became the foundation of Jon’s career.
Our Story.
What started as a small, specialised consultancy quickly grew. Organisations asked for more, deeper capability, broader support, and a dependable partner who understood the realities of defending complex environments. Tarian evolved to meet that demand, becoming a full-service, Microsoft-aligned security provider supporting organisations across Australia.
Today, we operate as a remote-first team built on trust, transparency, and accountability, bringing together senior talent from across the country.
